Ranking Highlights from 2000-2001

2000

US News and World Report:
J. Reuben Clark School ranked 32nd among the top 50 law school in the nation. The Marriott School’s graduate business program ranked 49th among top 50 business school programs in the nation. For national undergraduate programs, BYU ranked 78th overall out of 228 schools, with the Marriott School’s accounting program ranked 6th.

Public Accounting Report’s Annual Survey of Accounting Professors:
Marriott School undergraduate and graduate accounting programs ranked 3rd in nation.

National Merit Scholars:
BYU ranked 14th in the nation with enrollment of 130 freshman Merit Scholars in 1999-2000.

NSF:
BYU is among nation’s leaders in number of students who won National Science Foundation fellowships.

Sears Directors’ Cup:
Cougar Athletics ranked 17th in the nation in 1999-2000 for strength of overall athletic programs administered by the NACDA. BYU student athletes are well-represented on seasonal listing for Academic All-America honors. Lavell Edwards retires after logging 27 winning seasons, 20 conference titles, 22 bowl games and a national championship.

2001

Yahoo! Internet Life’s “America’s Most Wired Colleges 2001”:
BYU ranked among the top 50. BYU has 100% of dorms wired for Internet and 60% of classrooms wired. Students have access to technology products, services, supports through on-campus Ethernet connections and Technology Enhanced Classrooms.

Merit Scholar:
BYU ranked 18th in nation with enrollment of 115 freshman Merit Scholars in 2000-2001.

NSF:
BYU is among nation’s leaders in number of students who won National Science Foundation fellowships.
